About Sen. Hallock

Sen. Ted Hallock grew up in Portland and attended the University of Oregon. After he started college, World War II began, and Sen. Hallock enlisted in the Army Air Corps. During his four years in service, he received many medals and ribbons, including a Purple Heart. 

Once back at the University of Oregon, Sen. Hallock changed his major from pre-law to journalism. After working for several radio stations and magazines, he opened his own public relations firm. In 1962, he was elected to the legislature.
