CAPITOL PARK BENCHES

Obie Rutledge and Frankie Bell visit while seated on a new bench at the Capitol, a gift from the Capitol Foundation

A GIFT TO ALL WHO VISIT THE OREGON STATE CAPITOL

New park benches add to the aesthetics of the building and provide seating for visitors.

Imagine relaxing on a park bench at our beautiful Capitol, watching Legislators, staff and the public darting in and out of the building, working to shape our state’s future. Or, taking a seat to calm your nerves before you give testimony at a legislative hearing. Perhaps you picture eating lunch with friends surrounded by history.

Whatever you see, memorable moments like these became a reality with the installation of seven new park benches on the Capitol grounds. The benches were a project of the Capitol Foundation in 2020. Thank you to our donors and purchasers of Pacific Wonderland license plates for making this possible.

We invite you to explore the Capitol grounds to find other exciting Capitol Foundation projects. Click an image below to learn more. Together, we are preserving our Capitol, sharing its history and engaging Oregonians in our democracy.
