It’s a one-time investment
You’ll pay a one-time fee of $100 per set of plates. The DMV’s standard plate fee and regular registration fee are in addition to this one-time charge. However, Pacific Wonderland license plates are unique because, unlike other special plates, you aren’t charged any additional plate fees when you renew your registration. Plus, the revenue generated from your purchase goes a long way toward preserving Oregon’s rich historical heritage.

TODAY’S PLATES ARE A MODERN CLASSIC!

Oregon schoolchildren created the original Pacific Wonderland license plate in honor of Oregon’s 100th birthday.
The license plate features the colors of the state flag. Today’s version recreates the original and includes the popular Oregon 150 logo in honor of Oregon’s 150th birthday.
When it’s time to renew… Go with these classic license plates and keep Oregon’s history alive!
Oregon issued the original Pacific Wonderland plate for just five years, between 1959 and 1964. The DMV ordered new sets of latest version of the Pacific Wonderland license plates in September 2020. After exhausting the configuration of plates starting with a 9, they began issuing plates using a 0 as the first digit. For example, 0A-0000.
Plates are now processed using a print-to-emboss process, embossing the numbers and letters after the digital sheeting is applied to the aluminum. Plates are brighter and have thicker lettering, making them more vibrant and easier to see at night.

Proceeds from the sales of Pacific Wonderland license plates help preserve and teach Oregon’s unique history by supporting both the Oregon State Capitol Foundation and the Oregon Historical Society. Together, we preserve and interpret Oregon’s past in thoughtful, illuminating and provocative ways.
Your purchase also helps fund award-winning Capitol History Gateway programs, a collaborative effort between the Capitol Foundation and the Oregon State Capitol.
